Dear diary,
Day 1: Today I finally decided to head west. I heard there was gold discovered in California and I want to find some too! People are calling it a Gold Rush. I am going to bring my bronco too! I am going to California!
Day 2: I am getting tired of traveling West! It has only been a day and I feel very tired. I heard it takes almost 6 months to get to California from where I live. I think I am going to take a nap with my bronco.
Month 1 day 2: Sorry I haven’t written in my journal in a while. I saw someone sick on the trail and wanted to help him. He almost died of sickness, but I helped him. Luckily later he said he was feeling better and ran off.
Month 2: Today I woke up and saw tons of mean pioneers. They were even cursing.I am trying to hide because I don’t want them to hurt me. Thankfully my bronco is hidden behind a tree.
Month 3: The large group of pioneers has cleared out and now there is only a few people on the trail. I realized today that I am halfway to California, and I am hoping this long trip is worth it. Hopefully I find gold.
Month 4: Today I was riding on my bronco and I saw a cowboy wearing a bandanna. He said,”Hi” and then rode off. Then I rode a few more miles and I saw a log cabin. I saw a lot of great things today!
Month 5: I am getting sick and tired of heading West! I just want it to end. I have been traveling for 5 months! I just hope it’s worth it!
Month 6: I am really close to my destination and tomorrow I should get to California! It is really late so I am going to sleep.
Month 6 Day 2: Today I am going to travel a few more miles and then go pan for gold the next day!
Month 6 Day 2 (nighttime): I finally arrived tonight! My Bronco and I are going to get a good night sleep.
Month 6 Day 3: Today I headed out with my bronco to go try to pan for gold. But some people have been telling me barely anyone has found gold. So hopefully I have different results than the others.
Month 7 (afternoon): I have been searching for gold for almost a month. Today I finally found a piece of gold. My results were different from the others! I think it was worth it to travel West to find gold. I hope to find more gold soon!
